The Little Prince Theme Park (Le Parc du Petit Prince) is the world’s first aerial park. Located in Alsace, France, the Park first opened its doors to the public on 1st July 2014.
The Little Prince, a literary phenomenon by Antoine de St Exupéry, was published in 1943. Over 150 million copies, with translations in 285 languages, have been sold with 13 million in France alone. There are 31 attractions in the theme park that invite you to fly and travel from planet to planet in 2D, 3D and 4D, with the Little Prince whilst you encounter a range of animal attractions.
White Space were commissioned to design, build and install “Metamorphose”, a 10m long immersive projection tunnel, in a room that was only 5m wide! With such a short projection throw distance the only way to achieve the wrap around projection, was to use 24 ultra-short throw projectors. All 24 were soft edge blended and ran synchronised video content, which we were also responsible for creating. Being a permanent installation the structure and system had to be extremely robust and adhere to stringent French Health, Safety and Fire regulations.
