Lions and Roses
On Sunday 29th May 2016, The England football team came together to support of the England Footballers Foundation (EFF) which they set up in 2007. Celebrities from the worlds of sport, music and entertainment came together for an unforgettable evening of fundraising that included a surprise guest appearance from football legend, Pele, who turned up in support of the players and their charity work. Football fanatic Jack Whitehall hosted the event and treated guests to an exclusive stand up show, whilst Brit Award winner, James Bay, was on hand to provide a special music set with Gary Neville and Wayne Rooney joining him on stage for his multi-award winning single, Hold Back The River. The event was organised by the players themselves in partnership with their England representatives, 1966 Entertainment, and raised vital funds and awareness for the EFF and its chosen charity partners, Unicef and Honeypot children’s charity. In addition to supporting these charities, funds from Lions and Roses will also go towards the players’ own EFF Academy that provides coaching and education opportunities to disadvantaged youngsters across the country.
